Frequently Asked

How do I sync my notes?
Click "Login to Dropbox" from the Settings screen. You only have to login to Dropbox once and your notes will automatically sync from then on.

Do I have to sync my notes manually?
No. The whole idea behind Denote is that you don't have to worry about uploading and downloading your notes. Syncing is taken care of for you in the background as needed. That being said, you can press the sync button to initiate a sync at any time.

Can I use Denote without a Dropbox account?
Yes. Obviously your notes won't be syncing and only available on your Android device.

Can I choose/rename to folder Denote syncs to in my Dropbox
No. Denote syncs to a sandboxed folder (/apps/denote) in your Dropbox. Giving you the ability to change this location would require that Denote have access to your entire Dropbox. You don't want that and I don't want that.

What is Markdown?
